REBECCA SWISLOW

I am a Chicago native and a professional actor with extensive performance experience in various markets. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in Atlanta with a BA in Theater Studies and Psychology, and went on to earn my MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University in DC.  I've also completed actor training programs with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Moscow Art Theatre School.

While beginning my professional performing career in Washington, D.C., I also worked as a Teaching Artist for Ford’s Theatre and the Shakespeare Theatre Company with children and adults of all ages, creating curriculum and leading workshops on acting, movement, voice, and oratory techniques.

Now, living back in my hometown in the northern suburbs of Chicago, I also work as a freelance writing consultant and interview coach, specializing in:

  • guiding my clients to develop their own voice through the written word through focused editing and co-writing strategies (college/graduate school applications, prestigious national scholarships, and writing competitions)

  • preparing students and adults for interviews (college entrance, job opportunities, and media)

  • coaching clients on verbal and physical delivery for public speaking presentations and special events

I live with my mensch of a husband, two bold little daughters brimming with personality, and a 120lb labrador mix with no sense of personal space.
